Sarcopenia is an important disease that needs attention in the world. The aim of this paper was to quantify the trend of sarcopenia's scientific publications of EMRI (Endocrinology & Metabolism Research Institute, Iran).
All studies and scientific articles on sarcopenia which were affiliated to EMRI and its research centers have been recruited in this review through an inclusive search in web of science until 20th December 2019. The number of documents, publication year, main journals, citations, subject area and co-authorship network of authors were assessed.
Totally, 28 documents from EMRI were related to sarcopenia and indexed in the web of science. The number of documents showed an increasing trend. Most publications were "meeting abstract" at prestigious congresses. The top subject area were "epidemiology" and "association with other diseases". The highest cited article was a systematic review study, and the top source was "Diabetes & Metabolic Disorders" Journal.
EMRI provides an appropriate face of sarcopenia publications in the world. However, there is a need for more effort in other subject areas of sarcopenia, this study would be helpful for Iranian researchers to conduct better research in this field.
肌肉减少症是一种在全球范围内需要关注的重要疾病。本文旨在量化伊朗内分泌与代谢研究所(EMRI)关于肌肉减少症的科学出版物趋势。
通过在科学网进行全面检索,直至2019年12月20日,纳入了所有隶属于EMRI及其研究中心的关于肌肉减少症的研究和科学文章。评估了文献数量、出版年份、主要期刊、引用次数、主题领域以及作者的共同作者网络。
EMRI共有28篇与肌肉减少症相关的文献被科学网收录索引。文献数量呈上升趋势。大多数出版物是在著名大会上的“会议摘要”。主要主题领域是“流行病学”和“与其他疾病的关联”。被引用次数最多的文章是一项系统综述研究,主要来源期刊是《糖尿病与代谢紊乱》。
EMRI在全球肌肉减少症出版物方面展现出了一定成果。然而,在肌肉减少症的其他主题领域仍需加大力度,本研究将有助于伊朗研究人员在该领域开展更好的研究。
