The prognosis of patients with primary and secondary liver tumors has been improved recently by more aggressive operative, chemotherapeutic and embolization treatments. In a personal series of 40 patients with liver metastases from colorectal cancer, regional intra-arterial chemotherapy was superior to systemic intravenous treatment, with a tumor remission rate of 66% in comparison to 48% of the cases. But the benefit of intra-arterial chemotherapy is still questionable considering the higher complication rate and the absence of prognostic data of the procedure.
原发性和继发性肝肿瘤患者的预后近来通过更积极的手术、化疗和栓塞治疗得到了改善。在本人收治的40例结直肠癌肝转移患者中，区域动脉内化疗优于全身静脉治疗，肿瘤缓解率分别为66%和48%。但考虑到较高的并发症发生率以及该治疗方法缺乏预后数据，动脉内化疗的益处仍值得怀疑。
