A new species of the genus Caprella, belonging to the family Caprellidae, has been collected from the East Sea of Korea. The new species, Caprella megabranchia sp. nov., is morphologically similar to C. brevirostris Mayer, 1903, in terms of the shape of the propodus of gnathopod 2 and pereopods 5-7, propodi lacking grasping robust seta. However, the new species can be easily distinguished from C. brevirostris by its entirely circular gills and the anterior convexity of peduncular article 3 in antenna 1. The new species is illustrated and compared to related species C. brevirostris and a key to the Caprella species in Korea is also provided.
在韩国东海采集到了属于麦杆虾科麦杆虾属的一个新物种。这个新物种，巨鳃麦杆虾（Caprella megabranchia sp. nov.），在第二颚足和第5 - 7步足的腕节形状方面，形态上与1903年的短吻麦杆虾（Caprella brevirostris Mayer）相似，腕节缺少抓握刚毛。然而，这个新物种可以通过其完全圆形的鳃以及第一触角柄节第3节的前部凸起与短吻麦杆虾轻松区分开来。文中对该新物种进行了图示，并与相关物种短吻麦杆虾进行了比较，还提供了韩国麦杆虾属物种的检索表。
