The genus Scaptesyle Walker, 1854 is recorded from mainland China for the first time, with a new species, S. sinotricolor Huang & Volynkin sp. nov. described from SE Xizang Autonomous Region. The comparison is made with S. tricolor Walker, 1854 and S. plumosus Rothschild, 1912. The lectotype has been designated for Scaptesyle tricolor Walker, 1854. The adults and genitalia of the aforementioned species are illustrated.
1854年的斯氏夜蛾属（Scaptesyle Walker）首次在中国内地被记录，描述了一个新物种，即来自西藏自治区东南部的中华三色斯氏夜蛾（Scaptesyle sinotricolor Huang & Volynkin sp. nov.）。并与1854年的三色斯氏夜蛾（Scaptesyle tricolor Walker）和1912年的羽状斯氏夜蛾（Scaptesyle plumosus Rothschild）进行了比较。已为1854年的三色斯氏夜蛾指定了选模标本。文中展示了上述物种的成虫和生殖器。
