Disulfiram has been widely used as an adjunct in the treatment of alcoholism and has relatively few side effects. An alcoholic patient who developed hepatotoxic reaction while on disulfiram therapy is described. Although such reactions may occur, the dangers of continued drinking outweigh the dangers of taking disulfiram for the alcoholic.
