A 69-year-old woman with clinical and CT scan evidence of Binswanger's encephalopathy was successfully treated for an accompanying depression with tranylcypromine. The changing clinical and CT findings in this disorder are discussed, as well as the implications for the care and study of elderly depressed patients.
