Leukapheresis is a treatment used to reduce leukocytes to decrease the number of white blood cells in circulation and prevent the risks of hyperviscosity and cerebrovascular and pulmonary leukostasis. We present a case of pro-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) with hyperleukocytosis in a 6-month-old infant, characterized by a positive KMT2A/AFF1 fusion gene with a leukocyte count of 1,755 × 10/L. After two consecutive sessions of leukapheresis, the white blood cell count decreased to 55 × 10/L. The infant recovered after the high-dose methotrexate chemotherapy. These results demonstrate that leukapheresis is a feasible treatment option for acute hyperleukocytic leukemia in infants with ALL.
白细胞去除术是一种用于减少白细胞以降低循环中白细胞数量并预防高粘滞血症以及脑血管和肺部白细胞淤滞风险的治疗方法。我们报告一例6个月大婴儿的前B细胞急性淋巴细胞白血病（ALL）伴白细胞增多症，其特征为KMT2A/AFF1融合基因阳性，白细胞计数为1755×10⁹/L。经过连续两次白细胞去除术后，白细胞计数降至55×10⁹/L。该婴儿在接受大剂量甲氨蝶呤化疗后康复。这些结果表明，白细胞去除术是患有ALL的婴儿急性高白细胞白血病的一种可行治疗选择。
