[(Diagnosis of pancreatitis and pancreatic carcinoma by means of intraoperative fine needle aspiration biopsy)].

Intraoperative fine needle aspiration biopsies were performed in 69 patients with clinical suspicion of pancreatic carcinoma. The biopsies were positive in 20 to 25 patients with proven pancreatic carcinoma. The cytologic appearances and the cellular components of pancreatic carcinoma and pancreatitis are presented and illustrated.
