In 1983, I reviewed 101 of the first 128 consecutive Choyce anterior chamber lenses I had implanted after intracapsular cataract extraction between 1977 and 1981. After follow-up of two years eight months to six years, 95.7% of patients had visual acuities of 20/40 or better and 78.6% had acuities of 20/20 or better, excluding nonsurgical pathology. In 1981, the percentages were 97.5% and 71.3%, respectively.
