Abstract
This paper is a review of the literature, designed to familiarize the reader with the noninfectious alterations in the osseous structure of the diabetic foot. These changes are osteolysis, osteoporosis, and neuroarthropathy. Emphasis is placed on radiographic findings, clinical presentation, and treatment. Mechanisms responsible for these changes are also discussed when possible.
