Abstract

There are two potential approaches for high-throughput protein measurement: affinity-based approaches with targeted assays and the unbiased approach used in mass spectrometry. Here, the focus is SomaLogic's SOMAscan affinity platform ( https://somalogic.com/somascan-platform ), a cutting-edge proteomics technology that allows for the precise measurement of proteins in biological samples such as CSF, plasma, serum, and other body fluids. It is a highly multiplexed, sensitive, quantitative and reproducible proteomic technology capable of measuring rapidly (high throughput), broadly (thousands of proteins simultaneously) and deeply (high-and low-abundance proteins) by employing SOMAmer (Slow Off-rate Modified Aptamer) reagents.
