This study was conducted to compare peripheral intravenous catheterization (PIVC) at different anatomical sites in terms of pain, phlebitis and infiltration.
The study was a comparative-descriptive study. The population of the study consisted of all adult patients being treated and receiving intravenous drug therapy in a state hospital. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 154 patients who met the inclusion criteria for the study and were selected by non-probability sampling method. The "Patient Information Form" created by the researchers, "Phlebitis and Infiltration Scale" and "Visual Analogue Scale (VAS)" were used to collect data.
In the study, it was determined that there was no significant difference between the degree of phlebitis, time of phlebitis and degree of infiltration between the PIVC applied upper hand, forearm and antecubital regions (p > 0.05), but there was a significant difference between the regions in terms of pain (p < 0.05). It was determined that the severity of pain upper hand was significantly higher than the other groups.
PIVC's applied at different anatomical sites were similar in terms of the risk of phlebitis and infiltration, but pain intensity was much higher upper hand. It has been determined that various factors related to the patient, nurse and other variables affecting the level of phlebitis, infiltration and pain are effective.
本研究旨在比较不同解剖部位外周静脉置管(PIVC)在疼痛、静脉炎和渗漏方面的情况。
本研究为比较描述性研究。研究人群包括在一家公立医院接受治疗并接受静脉药物治疗的所有成年患者。研究样本共154例符合研究纳入标准的患者,采用非概率抽样方法选取。研究人员编制的“患者信息表”、“静脉炎和渗漏量表”以及“视觉模拟量表(VAS)”用于收集数据。
研究发现,在上肢、前臂和肘前区进行PIVC时,静脉炎程度、静脉炎发生时间和渗漏程度之间无显著差异(p>0.05),但在疼痛方面各区域之间存在显著差异(p<0.05)。确定上肢疼痛严重程度明显高于其他组。
不同解剖部位进行的PIVC在静脉炎和渗漏风险方面相似,但上肢疼痛强度要高得多。已确定与患者、护士及其他影响静脉炎、渗漏和疼痛程度的变量相关的各种因素具有影响作用。
