Abstract

Morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analyses clearly revealed that should be a member of the genus , rather than , and is a distinct species close to and . Morphologically, it differs from all the other known species by internodes initially with white pubescent, culm leaf auricles absent and triangularly subulate sheath blades, characteristics that are unusual in this genus. And this morphological distinction warrants recognition of as a new combination of .
