Equally good pictures of the bone were proved in 2800 xeroradiographs as in roentgen film, but at the same time the soft parts around the bone and their pathological changes were well portrayed. Additional information is obtained in the radiodiagnosis of the nasal sinus system, the upper airways, the breast and the soft parts of the head, neck and extremities. Xerotomography of the skull and especially of the lungs is superior to film tomogoraphy.
2800张干板X线照片显示出的骨骼图像与X线胶片的一样清晰，但同时骨骼周围的软组织及其病理变化也得到了很好的呈现。在鼻窦系统、上呼吸道、乳房以及头、颈和四肢软组织的放射诊断中可获得更多信息。颅骨尤其是肺部的干板体层摄影术优于胶片体层摄影术。
