Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most common malignant tumor in the head and neck. More and more evidence emphasizes the importance of inflammation in the progression of OSCC. The main signaling pathway of acute and chronic inflammation consists of the activation of the NLR family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome.
This review focuses on the role of NLRP3 immune kinase body and giving a contribution to the development of new treatment strategies against OSCC.
The NLRP3 inflammasome plays a vital role in the pathogenesis and development of OSCC and may serve as a promising therapeutic target for autoimmune diseases.
