Uterine torsion is defined as a pathological rotation of the uterus around its fixed longitudinal or vertical axis by a margin of more than 45 degrees. It is difficult to diagnose antenatally and has several operative and post-operative ramifications, leading to higher maternal and foetal morbidity.Case.We describe the case of a 21-year-old woman with asymptomatic, complete uterine torsion diagnosed during repeat caesarean section at term.
Posterior uterine incision is feasible and time-saving in an unexpected circumstance like uterine torsion. Exteriorization followed by detorsion of the uterus and a meticulous exploration of surrounding structures ensures safe obstetric outcome.
