Abstract

AIM

This case study seeks to shed light on a creatively built, highly functional space regainer that demonstrated exceptional patient compliance.

CLINICAL DISCUSSION

Space loss, tooth size and arch length discrepancies, early primary tooth exfoliation, and premature eruption of permanent teeth are among the obstacles that make the transition from a transitory to a permanent dentition rarely accurate. Space regainers are appliances that help restore and keep space by guiding the erupting tooth into the correct arch position. In addition to maintaining function and arch length, they also eliminate any possible psychological effects a child might have.

CONCLUSION

In pediatric dentistry, space management in mixed dentition is essential. This novel appliance demonstrated strong patient compliance, was simple to construct, and was effective at reducing the amount of space in a short amount of time.

CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE

This SV appliance is clinically significant as it offers enhanced precision in space management, improving alignment outcomes and reducing the risk of complications associated with traditional space maintainers by providing adjustable and customized solutions for individual patient needs.
