Abstract

Poly(rC)-Binding Protein 2 (PCBP2) stands as a pivotal component within the PCBP family, renowned for its multifaceted roles in both intracellular transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation processes. The burgeoning body of research illuminates the critical role of PCBP2 expression across a spectrum of solid malignancies. Delving into the intricacies of PCBP2's involvement in cancer genesis opens promising avenues for pioneering diagnostic techniques, therapeutic interventions, and prognostic assessments specifically tailored to gastrointestinal cancers. This review meticulously collates and examines the extant literature on PCBP2's expression dynamics and functional attributes in the oncological context, with a particular focus on gastrointestinal malignancies. Furthermore, it explores the intricate molecular pathways implicated in cancer progression where PCBP2 plays a significant role. Additionally, this discourse encapsulates the prospective clinical utilities of PCBP2, spanning diagnosis, therapeutic modalities, and prognostication in the realm of gastrointestinal cancers.
