Solitary brain metastasis mimicking meningioma as the initial presentation of concurrent pulmonary and breast sarcomatoid carcinoma in a male patient: A rare entity with literature review.

Sarcomatoid carcinomas are very rare mixed malignancies, belonging to the subtype of non-small-cell-lung cancer composed of epithelial and mesenchymal tissues. These tumors represent 0.1%-0.3% of all lung cancers. Involvement of the central nervous system remains rare and only few cases were reported in the literature. There are no standards for the treatment of this cancer. It is a tumor of poor prognosis, known by its recurrences both local and distant with a relatively high mortality rate. The authors present a novel and rare case of pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma, identified through a comprehensive review of the current literature. This case involves a 55-year-old male patient who initially presented with progressive signs and symptoms of raised intracranial pressure, without any respiratory complaints. Further investigation revealed a solitary left frontal brain metastasis and an incidentally discovered breast metastasis.
