Under study were results of radiation therapy for local recurrent lung cancer after extended and combined resections in 62 out of 960 (6,5 %) of operated patients. The most effective treatment is considered to be radiation therapy for a recurrence under conditions of a usual (by 2 Gr) fractional irradiation up to the total dose of 50-60 Gr. An improvement was obtained in half of the patients. In a third of patients with a local recurrent cancer after operation the life was two years longer than in patients without radiation therapy.
