CDK4/MDM2 co-amplification, a molecular aberration predominantly observed in sarcomas, has not been previously reported in odontogenic neoplasms. We present the first documented case of odontogenic carcinoma with CDK4/MDM2 co-amplification. The tumor exhibited distinctive histologic features including irregular luminal/cleft structures lined by monolayer epithelium over whorled stromal cores. This case expands both the histopathological spectrum and molecular landscape of odontogenic carcinomas. Furthermore, our findings support routine molecular profiling for rare odontogenic malignancies to improve classification and suggest potential theraputic targets.
CDK4/MDM2共扩增是一种主要在肉瘤中观察到的分子异常,此前在牙源性肿瘤中尚未有报道。我们报告了首例有CDK4/MDM2共扩增的牙源性癌病例。该肿瘤表现出独特的组织学特征,包括由单层上皮衬里的不规则管腔/裂隙结构,上皮覆盖在漩涡状的间质核心之上。该病例扩展了牙源性癌的组织病理学谱和分子格局。此外,我们的研究结果支持对罕见牙源性恶性肿瘤进行常规分子分析以改进分类,并提示潜在的治疗靶点。
