In this study, the genotoxic and histopathological effects of 6 GHz (0.065 W/kg) Radiofrequency-Electromagnetic Radiation (RF-EMR) on rat liver tissue were investigated. Sham (control) and Radiofrequency Radiation (RFR) groups were formed with 10 adult male rats in each group. Rats in the sham group received no treatment. Rats in the RFR group were exposed to 6 GHz RF-EMR for 4 h/day for 42 days. Immediately after the completion of the exposure, the rats in both groups were sacrificed and liver tissues were removed. Comet Test was performed to determine the genotoxic effect in the samples. Masson Trichrome and Hematoxylin Eosin staining methods were applied histopathologically. According to the Comet Analysis results, the genetic damage index (GDI) and damaged cell percentage (DCP) of the RFR group were higher than the sham group, but this difference was not statistically significant ( > 0.05). In histopathologic examinations, portal inflammation, single cell necrosis, vascularity and congestion were more prominent in the RFR group compared to the sham group. In our study, it was shown that 6 GHz RF-EMR can cause histopathologic and DNA level changes in rat liver tissue. As a result of the literature review, no prior studies have specifically examined the genotoxic and histopathological effects of 6 GHz RF-EMR. This makes our study important as it addresses the biological impacts of the 6 GHz frequency band.
在本研究中,调查了6 GHz(0.065 W/kg)射频电磁辐射(RF-EMR)对大鼠肝脏组织的遗传毒性和组织病理学影响。假手术(对照)组和射频辐射(RFR)组每组由10只成年雄性大鼠组成。假手术组的大鼠未接受任何处理。RFR组的大鼠每天暴露于6 GHz RF-EMR下4小时,持续42天。暴露结束后立即处死两组大鼠并取出肝脏组织。进行彗星试验以确定样品中的遗传毒性作用。组织病理学上采用了Masson三色染色法和苏木精-伊红染色法。根据彗星分析结果,RFR组的遗传损伤指数(GDI)和受损细胞百分比(DCP)高于假手术组,但这种差异无统计学意义(>0.05)。在组织病理学检查中,与假手术组相比,RFR组的门静脉炎症、单细胞坏死、血管形成和充血更为明显。在我们的研究中,表明6 GHz RF-EMR可导致大鼠肝脏组织发生组织病理学和DNA水平的变化。通过文献综述发现,此前没有研究专门考察过6 GHz RF-EMR的遗传毒性和组织病理学影响。这使得我们的研究具有重要意义,因为它探讨了6 GHz频段的生物学影响。
