We describe a method for the photometric assay of the content of carbonyl iron powder in the blood and discuss a process comparing the in vitro effects of bar magnets on flowing carbonyl iron powder suspensions. We have used this method experimentally on laboratory animals and have induced thrombosis of inner ear vessels with magnetic forces following injections of the carbonyl iron powder.
