Abstract

INTRODUCTION

Pathological fractures of the proximal femur in children, often resulting from conditions such as fibrous dysplasia and simple bone cysts, present significant treatment challenges. This study aims to evaluate the outcomes of utilizing the Adult Proximal Humeral Internal Locking System (PHILOS) plating in treating pediatric proximal femur fractures resulting from benign non-neoplastic bone lesions.

CASE PRESENTATION

This case report describes two pediatric patients treated with PHILOS plating for proximal femur fractures. Both cases demonstrated successful outcomes with PHILOS plating, evidenced by bone healing, minimal leg length discrepancy, and the return to normal activities without pain.

DISCUSSION

This method offers a reliable alternative to conventional pediatric fracture treatment modalities, particularly in cases where angular stability and anatomical alignment are paramount.

CONCLUSION

The proximal femur frequently serves as a common place for pathological fractures in pediatric cases. In summary, the PHILOS plate emerges as a suitable implant option for pediatric subtrochanteric femur fractures necessitating internal fixation.

引言

儿童股骨近端病理性骨折常由纤维发育不良和单纯骨囊肿等病症引起,带来了重大的治疗挑战。本研究旨在评估使用成人肱骨近端锁定接骨板系统(PHILOS)治疗因良性非肿瘤性骨病变导致的儿童股骨近端骨折的疗效。

病例报告

本病例报告描述了两名接受PHILOS接骨板治疗股骨近端骨折的儿科患者。两例患者使用PHILOS接骨板均取得成功,表现为骨愈合、下肢长度差异最小且恢复正常活动且无疼痛。

讨论

这种方法为传统儿科骨折治疗方式提供了可靠的替代方案,特别是在角稳定性和解剖复位至关重要的情况下。

结论

股骨近端在儿科病例中常是病理性骨折的好发部位。总之,对于需要内固定的儿童股骨转子下骨折,PHILOS接骨板是一种合适的植入选择。
