Abstract

During the study of oomycete biodiversity in aquatic environments of northwestern Iran (East Azarbaijan), four isolates were recovered from a river and irrigation canal. These isolates were identified based on multi-locus phylogenetic analyses (ITS, , and genomic regions) and morphological features. As a result, two novel species were described, namely sp. nov. and sp. nov., both exhibiting unique sporangial structures and growth patterns. Pathogenicity assays on cucumber seedlings confirmed strains' high potential to cause root and crown rot. This research highlights the diversity of in Iranian freshwater habitats, providing insights into its taxonomy and phylogenetic relationships. Detailed morphological descriptions and illustrations are provided for these novel species.

在对伊朗西北部(东阿塞拜疆省)水生环境中的卵菌生物多样性进行研究期间,从一条河流和灌溉渠中分离出了4个菌株。这些菌株基于多位点系统发育分析(ITS、 以及 基因组区域)和形态特征进行了鉴定。结果,描述了两个新物种,即 新种和 新种,二者均表现出独特的孢子囊结构和生长模式。对黄瓜幼苗进行的致病性测定证实了这些菌株具有引发根腐病和冠腐病的高潜力。这项研究突出了伊朗淡水生境中 的多样性,为其分类学和系统发育关系提供了见解。文中还提供了这些新物种的详细形态描述和图示。
