Results of the examination of 133 patients show sorption methods of detoxication to be effective means in the complex treatment of hepatic insufficiency. In hepatocerebral insufficiency however resulting from portal cirrhosis better results were obtained after lymphosorption. Hemosorption is indicated in cholemic intoxications as well as after liquidation of the obstruction of the common bile duct.
