The author observed purulent intervertebral osteochondritis in 2 of 107 patients operated upon for osteochondrosis of the vertebral column and in 1 of 98 patients after discography. Special attention is given to difficult diagnosis during the first days due to the absence of the clinical signs pathognomonic of this complication. After a repeated operation with drainage of the focus two patients have recovered within 3-5 months with an outcome in a complete ankylosis.
作者在107例因脊柱骨软骨病接受手术的患者中观察到2例脓性椎间骨软骨炎，在98例椎间盘造影后的患者中观察到1例。由于缺乏该并发症的特征性临床体征，在最初几天诊断困难，需特别注意。经再次手术并引流病灶后，两名患者在3至5个月内康复，最终完全强直。
