Femoral nerve palsy occasionally occurs after retroperitoneal spontaneous haemorrhage complicating anticoagulant therapy. Spontaneous bleeding and such subsequent palsy arose in a young woman during anticoagulant therapy for deep vein thrombosis. The case is reported and the anatomic basis of the nerve lesion and the methods of treatment are discussed against the background of the literature.
