Abstract

A 49-year-old female patient presented with decline of general health and muscle pain. Laboratory findings showed a combination of rhabdomyolysis and severe hypokalemia. Symptoms improved with potassium supplementation. Hyperaldosteronism was identified as the underlying cause of the hypokalemia. Sonography revealed an adrenal mass that was diagnosed as adrenal carcinoma following surgical removal. Hypokalemia is a rare cause of rhabdomyolysis and should prompt consideration of hyperaldosteronism.

一名49岁女性患者出现全身健康状况下降和肌肉疼痛。实验室检查结果显示为横纹肌溶解症和严重低钾血症并存。补充钾后症状有所改善。醛固酮增多症被确定为低钾血症的根本原因。超声检查发现肾上腺有一个肿块，手术切除后诊断为肾上腺癌。低钾血症是横纹肌溶解症的罕见病因，应促使考虑醛固酮增多症。
