Abstract
The 5-hydroxy-5H-[1]benzopyrano [4,3-b]pyridines (4) were converted to the acetales 7-10 on treatment with alcoholic solutions in the presence of concentrated hydrochloric acid. Reactions of with aliphatic and aromatic amines yielded the aminoacetales 11-15. The effects of compounds 7-15 were examined on the isolated perfused guinea-pig heart.
