Abstract
2,3 DPG levels of whole blood, packed cells and hemoglobin were measured in school students living at Amman (766 m above sea level) and Dead Sea (390 m below sea level). A total of 211 male and 158 female healthy subjects of age range 15-19 years, having almost identical economic and nutritional status were studied. It was found that 2,3 DPG levels were significantly lower (p less than 0.005) in both sexes at Dead Sea level than that of Amman.

对生活在安曼（海拔766米）和死海（海拔低于海平面390米）的在校学生的全血、压积细胞和血红蛋白的2,3 -二磷酸甘油酸（2,3 DPG）水平进行了测量。总共研究了211名男性和158名女性健康受试者，年龄在15至19岁之间，他们的经济和营养状况几乎相同。结果发现，死海地区两性的2,3 DPG水平均显著低于安曼地区（p小于0.005）。
