Abstract

Haloperidol catalepsy can be countered by electrical stimulation of the lateral hypothalamus (LH) and, to a lesser extent, the reticular formation (RH). Substantia nigra (SN) stimulation proved to be least effective in this regard. Dissociation between behavioral arousal and cortical EEG during stimulation of the RF in cataleptic rats was observed.
