Several kinds of positive health programs, ranging from efforts to identify cases of hypertension to the establishment of prenatal and well baby clinics, can be advantageous to the community hospital and to those it serves. Catholic hospitals, with their commitment to social justice, can use their unique positions as community centers of health care to pioneer the development of such programs.
