Peritoneal dialysis is a simple effective treatment for patients with some forms of renal failure, poisoning and fluid and electrolyte imbalance. There are several well-recognised complications. Common amongst these are malinsertion and positioning of the cannulae, perforation of visci and partial blockage of the cannula by debris. A simple technique of cannulography is described whereby the diagnosis of some of these conditions can be readily achieved.
