Abstract
Mammary gland biopsies were obtained from 39 guinea pigs during late pregnancy, lactation and weaning. Up to eight samples, each weighing 60--200 mg, were taken from each animal in two independent studies. No mortalities resulted, and no interference with lactation or suckling was observed.
