Abstract
Injury to the vertebral artery is infrequent and poses special problems in exposure if it occurs above the entrance to the transverse foramen. The patients may present with neurologic symptoms. Pulsatile tinnitus and a bruit in the cervical-paravertebral region are constant findings. Permanent occlusion by a balloon catheter offers an unhurried and facile means of control after otherwise life-threatening lesions are stabilized.

椎动脉损伤并不常见，如果损伤发生在横突孔入口上方，则在暴露时会带来特殊问题。患者可能会出现神经症状。搏动性耳鸣和颈旁椎区域的血管杂音是常见表现。在危及生命的病变稳定后，通过球囊导管进行永久性闭塞提供了一种从容且简便的控制方法。
