Abstract
A review of the records of patients undergoing cholecystectomy or cholecystostomy disclosed that only 3.6% of the units of blood crossmatched in preparation for the operation were actually used. Even so, in half the instances only one unit of blood was transfused. It is concluded that before such operations, crossmatching of blood is rarely necessary and only in unusual circumstances.

对接受胆囊切除术或胆囊造口术患者的记录进行回顾发现，为手术准备而交叉配血的血液单位中，实际使用的仅占3.6%。即便如此，在半数情况下，仅输注了一个单位的血液。得出的结论是，在进行此类手术前，很少需要交叉配血，仅在特殊情况下才需要。
