Abstract
Supralethal dose of whole-body or trunk but not head-irradiation in rats induced hyperosmolar coma accompanied by hypernatremia and hyperkalemia. This clinical entity has presented the symptoms of the CNS radiation syndrome with a characteristic short survival time.
