The glucose tolerance test remains the most acceptable approach to the early diagnosis of mild diabetes in adults in the absence of significantly elevated fasting blood sugar levels. Current reappraisal of what is a "normal" fasting blood glucose level is necessary to avoid the error of false-positive diagnosis of diabetes.
在空腹血糖水平无显著升高的情况下，葡萄糖耐量试验仍是早期诊断成人轻度糖尿病最可接受的方法。目前有必要重新评估什么是“正常”空腹血糖水平，以避免糖尿病假阳性诊断的错误。
