Spectrophotometric determination of acetaminophen in tablets, sirups, and suppositories.

A differential spectrophotometric method and Glenn's method of orthogonal function are described for the assay of acetaminophen in tablets, sirups, and suppositories. Interference from excipients in the formulations is thereby avoided. Accuracy of the analyses is greater with the proposed methods than with the British Pharmacopoeia method.
