In 50 cases of histologically identified metastases of the central nervous system it was found that in cases of breast cancer and malignant melanomas the diagnosis of the primary tumor is the key to the diagnosis of the metastasis; bronchial carcinomas are usually found upon diagnosis of cerebral metastases; angiography, color scintigraphy and the computer tomography have a false negative rate of 10--15%, in cerebrospinal fluid protein levels are often increased (64%), and tumor cells are found in 18%.
在50例经组织学确诊的中枢神经系统转移瘤病例中，发现乳腺癌和恶性黑色素瘤病例中，原发肿瘤的诊断是转移瘤诊断的关键；支气管癌通常在脑转移瘤诊断时被发现；血管造影、彩色闪烁扫描和计算机断层扫描的假阴性率为10% - 15%，脑脊液蛋白水平常升高（64%），且18%的病例可发现肿瘤细胞。
