Abstract

This paper reviews the various theoretical approaches to incest and considers their relationship to the clinical literature. The dearth of treatment reports on incest is noted, and directions are suggested for research that will enhance our understanding of the phenomenon and guide practitioners in the appropriate therapeutic intervention with participants.
