Analysis was performed of the multiple factors influencing the mental state of children with cerebral palsy during the course of their rehabilitation. The clinical material consisted of 45 cases. The analysed factors were found to be positive or negative. Special stress is put on adequate affective relations between a disabled child and his or her mother. The role of such factors as surgical intervention, rehabilitational gymnastics, psychopaedagogic treatment and occupational therapy are discussed in their relation to the gravity of the disease, the degree of mental deficiency and affective disturbances.
