Abstract
Measures to improve the organization of geriatric care in South Africa are recommended after a study of overseas methods. The necessity for a geriatric unit in a teaching hospital is stressed, for the specific purposes of education of medical and paramedical personnel, and the linkage of hospital and community facilities.
