In order to examine the regulatory function in glucidic metabolism of the pigeon pineal gland the authors used the model of complete pancreatectomy associated or not with pinealectomy and treatment with Epifizan. It results that the pineal gland has a hypoglycemic action and partially compensates the lack of the endocrine pancreas.
为了研究鸽子松果体在糖代谢中的调节功能，作者采用了全胰腺切除模型，该模型可联合或不联合松果体切除以及使用艾菲赞进行治疗。结果表明，松果体具有降血糖作用，并能部分补偿内分泌胰腺的缺失。
