1. The intestinal nerve adjacent to the colon in the domestic fowl, contains motor fibres descending from the vagal and sympathetic thoracicolumbar outflows. 2. No electrophysiological or histological evidence for the existence of motor fibres ascending from the sacral part of the central nervous system could be obtained; ascending sensory fibres, however, were readily demonstrated.
