Non-sensitized and pre-sensitized, thymectomized adult mice were given a potentially lethal dose of X-radiation, protected with syngeneic bone-marrow, and then repeatedly challenged with allogeneic and xenogeneic skin grafts. While initially both haemagglutinin production and the homograft response were greatly impaired, the repeated antigenic challenge resulted in return of the homograft response toward the specific antigens to near normal reactivity, while antibody production became progressively more impaired.
