The results are presented of postoperative irradiation in the treatment of breast cancer at the Department of Radiotherapy and Radiobiology, University of Vienna. Our data compare well with the best results reported in the literature. Apart from the importance of high loco-regional freedom from disease for the quality of life of these patients, the related increase in survival prospects is stressed.
