Forty-eight operations of osteotomy of the lesser trochanter in 45 patients were reviewed after an average of three and a half years. Of 10 hips affected by proved rheumatoid arthritis eight obtained complete relief of pain and two partial relief. Of 38 hips affected by osteoarthritis 16 had complete relief and 17 partial relief.The results suggest that osteotomy of the lesser trochanter deserves a more extended trial in cases of proved rheumatoid arthritis of the hip joint.
对45例患者的48次小转子截骨手术进行了回顾，平均随访时间为三年半。在10例确诊为类风湿性关节炎的髋关节中，8例疼痛完全缓解，2例部分缓解。在38例骨关节炎患者的髋关节中，16例完全缓解，17例部分缓解。结果表明，对于确诊的髋关节类风湿性关节炎病例，小转子截骨术值得进行更广泛的试验。
