[Case history of acute fatty degeneration of the liver due to pregnancy-relevance to differential diagnosis and therapy (author's transl)].

Reported in this paper is the case of a patient, 19 years of age, with twin pregnancy who developed acute pregnancy-caused fatty degeneration of the liver with typical clinical symptoms in the 34th week of pregnancy, following nine weeks of hospitalisation for tocolysis treatment. The presence of a severe hepatorenal syndrome due to late gestosis, pregnancy cholestase or medicamentous intoxication is discussed for differential diagnosis. Suggestions are made as to high-dosage Partusisten long-time tocolysis which, possibly, might have been an additional hepatotoxic stress factor in concomitance with late gestosis.
